Installation Guide

Follow this guide to install and configure the BS Oil Field Multiplayer Job on your FiveM server.

Check Prerequisites & Dependencies

Ensure your FiveM server is running an up-to-date server artifact and has the following required dependencies installed:

  • Core Framework: qbx_core (QBox), qb-core, or es_extended
  • Database Library: oxmysql
  • UI / Library Utilities: ox_lib
  • Target Interaction System: ox_target, qb-target, or qbx-target
  • Clothing Resource (Optional): illenium-appearance, qb-clothing, esx_skin, or none
  • Vehicle Keys System (Optional): qbx_vehiclekeys, qb-vehiclekeys, qs-vehiclekeys, or custom via bridge
  • Notification System (Optional): ox_lib, bs-advnotifications, or framework default

Download the Resource

Acquire BS Oil Field Multiplayer Job from your FiveM Keymaster (opens in a new tab) granted assets or the Cfx.re Portal (opens in a new tab).

Extract the archive into your server's resources directory (e.g., resources/[jobs]/bs-oilfieldjob). Ensure the resource folder is named bs-oilfieldjob.

Execute Database Migration (install.sql)

Import the provided install.sql file into your MySQL database using HeidiSQL, phpMyAdmin, or your database management tool of choice:

Configure Server ACE Permissions (server.cfg)

Open your server.cfg file and add the following lines above the ensure bs-oilfieldjob line:

add_ace resource.bs-oilfieldjob command.add_ace allow

IMPORTANT: Why is add_ace resource.bs-oilfieldjob command.add_ace allow required?

When bs-oilfieldjob starts, the server script in server/functions.lua executes the following command:

ExecuteCommand(('add_ace %s %s allow'):format(serverConfig.adminPermission, 'oilfieldjob.admin'))

By default, FiveM prevents resources from running the add_ace command from script contexts unless the resource is explicitly granted command.add_ace allow. Without this line in your server.cfg, FiveM will deny command execution, preventing admins from using /oiltaskmanager and /oilbonusmanager.

Configure Job Vehicles

The script supports both vanilla/bundled vehicles and custom modded trucks:

Option A: Default Bundled Vehicle (bscaracara)

The resource comes with vehicle stream files for bscaracara. To use it, verify your config/sh_config.lua contains:

  base = {
    -- ...
    vehicle = {
      model = `bscaracara`,
      colors = {
        primary = 105,
        secondary = 105,
        pearlescent = 6,
        wheels = 0,
      },
      livery = 0,
      mods = {
        [0] = 5, [1] = 6, [2] = 1, [48] = 0,
      },
      spawnPoints = {
        vec4(1711.18, -1580.68, 111.29, 279.87),
        vec4(1710.41, -1576.29, 111.3, 279.87),
        vec4(1709.47, -1571.63, 111.33, 279.87),
        vec4(1711.0, -1566.21, 111.34, 279.87),
      },
    },
  },

Option B: Enhanced Custom Vehicle (nsandstorm2)

For the optimal thematic experience, download the Vapid Sandstorm D205 (opens in a new tab) and configure:

  1. Download the vehicle pack from the GTA5-Mods link.
  2. In the vehicle stream files, replace nsandstorm_livery7.yft with your desired custom oilfield livery.
  3. Update config/sh_config.lua under base.vehicle:
  base = {
    -- ...
    vehicle = {
      model = `nsandstorm2`,
      colors = {
        primary = 105,
        secondary = 105,
      },
      livery = 3,
      mods = {
        [0] = 21, [1] = 25, [2] = 3, [10] = 0,
        [42] = 0, [44] = 1, [47] = 0, [48] = 3,
      },
      spawnPoints = {
        vec4(1711.18, -1580.68, 111.29, 279.87),
        vec4(1710.41, -1576.29, 111.3, 279.87),
        vec4(1709.47, -1571.63, 111.33, 279.87),
        vec4(1711.0, -1566.21, 111.34, 279.87),
      },
    },
  },

Configure Job Uniforms & Clothes

The script automatically applies work clothes when players start a work route and restores their original clothing when the job finishes.

Default Vanilla GTA DLC Workwear

The default configuration in config/cl_config.lua uses clothing components included with vanilla GTA V DLCs (present on all servers):

  • Male: Top/Jacket (torso2 / jbib): 363, Legs (pants / lowr): 134, Decals (decals / decl): 0, Hard Hat (hat): 145 (texture 1).
  • Female: Top/Jacket (torso2 / jbib): 288, Legs (pants / lowr): 217, Decals (decals / decl): 224, Hard Hat (hat): 144 (texture 1).

Using Custom Server Clothing Packs (EUP / Add-On Clothes)

If your server uses custom EUP or replacement clothing packs, component drawable IDs will differ. Simply open config/cl_config.lua and adjust the drawable and texture IDs to match your server's clothing numbers:

  • torso2 corresponds to the jacket / outer shirt (jbib).
  • pants corresponds to legs / trousers (lowr).
  • decals corresponds to badges / reflective patches (decl).
  • hat corresponds to headwear props (p_head).

Start the Server and Verify

  1. Restart your server or run ensure bs-oilfieldjob in the server console.
  2. Verify that there are no red errors in the console and that the database tables connect properly.
  3. Travel to the base location at vec4(1714.21, -1598.33, 112.81, 279.76) (marked by the yellow oil pump map blip).
  4. Approach the foreman NPC and target him with your interaction system (ox_target / qb-target). The dashboard prompt should appear.
